AMETEK MRO Singapore celebrates a year of expansion

David Corish, Divisional Vice President & General Manager of AMETEK Singapore PTE, retells how the Company?s core strategy of supporting legacy platforms is enabling it to become the go-to MRO provider for an increasingly wide range of support. ?Establishing repair partnerships and agreements with leading OEMs enables us to provide an enhanced level of support in-region as flight hours continue to recover and grow. The confidence we have in our OEM-trained technicians and our extensive history of customer support enables us to provide comprehensive maintenance solutions, particularly in regions such as Asia Pacific. Here European and US based OEMs need to adopt a collaborative approach to provide viable repair options from a logistics and local service perspective. This is a cornerstone of AMETEK MRO?s business.?

In January the organisation augmented its capabilities by investing in Airbus A350 maintenance solutions thus providing customers in the Asia Pacific region with a regional support option for the full suite of cargo and galley heaters for the aircraft type. Further complemented by AMETEK?s current airworthiness approvals including CAAS, CAAC, FAA, EASA, JCAB, CAAM, CAAV and DGCA.ÿ

Having provided maintenance, repair, and overhaul services on CF6-80, PW2000, PW4000, V2500, Trent 700, Trent 800 and Trent 900 engines for more than fourteen years, AMETEK Singapore was named a Honeywell Authorised Repair Centre (ARC) for these components in May. This new agreement with Honeywell allows further penetration into OEM-centric markets in Asia for those customers requiring OEM only material.

In July, AMETEK Singapore increased its scope of MRO support for AsiaPAC airlines and operators, independent engine MROs and repair management companies with streamlined local representation for AMETEK Sensors & Fluid Management Systems (SFMS).ÿ

Earlier this month, further enhancements to the range of MRO support services arrived with the opening of a state-of-the-art wheel and brake repair facility. All technician training, scoping of equipment, approvals and accreditation management for the new shop has been supervised by ANTAVIA, the AMETEK MRO business based in France which operates two highly successful wheel and brake repair divisions in Paris CDG and Campsas, near Toulouse.

?Legacy carriers, low-cost airlines, regional operators, business jets, and military opportunities are all integral to our long-term plans? says Corish. ?Local demand is forecast to increase rapidly in the next ten years as airline restructuring and new purchasing strategies start to take hold. AMETEK MRO Singapore recognises that OEM-approved component repair and licensing agreements, particularly for more mature product lines, can deliver the ultra-efficient repair services that airlines expect.?
