Boeing and SCAT Airlines have announced an agreement to modify a 767-300ER into a Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF). Announced at the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow, the agreement will enable SCAT Airlines to launch general and express cargo operations.
The Kazakh government is prioritizing the rapid growth of the air cargo sector. As many airlines are now increasing their freight services to major cities in the nation, Kazakhstan is a prime location for an air cargo network hub in the region. Demand for medium wide-body cargo airplanes in Central Asia continues to grow. As one of Kazakhstan’s leading airlines, SCAT will be well-positioned to make its entry into the freighter market with the 767-300BCF.
By leveraging the range and payload of the 767-300BCF, the airline will address emerging demands for e-commerce and general freight traffic between Asia, the Middle East and Europe markets.
SCAT Airlines will be the first air carrier to operate the 767-300BCF in Kazakhstan.
