Cathay postpones the resumption of its Middle East freighter services

Cathay Cargo has announced the postponement of the planned resumption of its freighter service to Riyadh following the latest developments in the Middle East. The freighter operation, which had been scheduled to resume on 1 August 2026, will remain suspended until further notice as the airline continues to closely monitor the evolving security and operational situation across the region.

The Hong Kong-based cargo carrier stated that the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and reliability of its operations. Cathay Cargo will continue to assess conditions in the Middle East and review the appropriate timing for the resumption of its Riyadh freighter service once the operating environment stabilizes.

The postponement reflects the broader impact of regional developments on international air cargo operations, with airlines continuing to adjust their schedules and network plans in response to changing operational conditions. Cathay Cargo reaffirmed that it will closely monitor the situation and provide further updates regarding the restart of its Riyadh freighter services when appropriate.
