HAECO and VTC to collaborate on technical training

Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO) and The Vocational Training Council (VTC) have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly establish a framework for self-development, leadership education and technical training to support the development of aircraft maintenance talents for Hong Kong’s aviation industry. The agreement covers a range of activities related to training and learning materials to provide VTC students with a strong foundation in aircraft maintenance and engineering.

As the largest aircraft maintenance service provider in Hong Kong with multiple companies across the globe, HAECO is equipped with the infrastructure and resources to cultivate future talents who are passionate about aviation. Following the signing of this MOU, HAECO Hong Kong will work closely with VTC to nurture students through the school’s Diploma of Vocational Education and Higher Diploma programmes, enhancing their knowledge on aircraft maintenance and engineering.

Speaking at the MOU signing ceremony, Benjamin Scheidel, Chief Executive Officer of HAECO Hong Kong said: “We are pleased to partner with VTC on various learning programmes and activities to spark the interest of our young community in the exciting world of aircraft maintenance. Together we are committed to nurturing local talents and their professional skills. With Hong Kong opening to the world and the airport’s three-runway system in full operation soon, we will provide attractive career perspectives and create a strong pipeline of local talents to support our aviation industry, rebuilding Hong Kong’s status as a leading aviation hub.”

Dr Michael Wang, Deputy Executive Director of Vocational Training Council noted that VTC students could fully comprehend the needs of the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department and the aircraft maintenance industry with professional advice from HAECO.
