Boeing and Texel Air has announced an order for the Bahrain-based airline?s second 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF).
?This additional expansion of our Boeing Converted Freighter fleet will help us meet the increased demand we are seeing from our customers for cargo transport services,? said George Chisholm, chief executive officer, Chisholm Enterprises & Texel Air. ?We chose to purchase our second 737-800BCF based on the positive response we have received from the markets we serve, and the demonstrated performance and capabilities of the aircraft.?
Texel Air announced its first order for the Boeing Converted Freighter earlier this year, and is the first air carrier in the Middle East region to include the 737-800BCF in its fleet. Globally, the 737-800BCF now has more than 190 orders and commitments.
?We are extremely pleased with Texel Air?s continued commitment to the 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter as the foundation for their fleet expansion plans,? said Anbessie Yitbarek, Boeing vice president of Commercial Services Sales. ?We continue to see strong demand for Boeing passenger-to-freighter conversions, especially from our customers with increasing freight volumes in the express and e-commerce markets.?
