Delta Air Lines and LATAM Airlines Brasil Announce a Long-Term MRO Agreement

Delta Air Lines, Inc. and LATAM Airlines Brasil announced a long-term commercial agreement for maintenance, repair and overhaul services, focused on A320 component repair, subject to regulatory approvals.

This initial scope reflects a shared ambition to address growing global demand for A320 maintenance solutions, reinforcing the technical collaboration between both companies.

This initiative builds on the existing Joint Venture relationship between Delta and the LATAM group, marking a new phase in their technical collaboration and reinforcing a strong track record of operational and engineering cooperation. It also reflects the continued evolution of the air carriers’ footprint as they expand collaboration across multiple areas of their businesses.

Delta TechOps supports LATAM group’s fleet through advanced repair capabilities at its Atlanta facilities, including engine maintenance, repair and overhaul for Airbus A320neo and Boeing 787 aircraft. At the same time, LATAM also currently provides component maintenance support to Delta at its São Carlos MRO facility in Brazil.

Building on this foundation, Delta and the Brazilian LATAM affiliate plan to expand their commercial cooperation. By combining Delta TechOps’ global scale and advanced capabilities in Atlanta with LATAM Airlines Brasil’s world-class component repair expertise at LATAM MRO in  São Carlos, Brazil, the cooperation aims to deliver one of the most comprehensive and efficient repair solutions available to A320 operators worldwide.

The agreement  leverages the complementary strengths of the airlines to deliver a differentiated and global MRO offering, while unlocking strategic value for both organizations.

“This agreement with Delta marks an important step in strengthening LATAM Airlines Brasil’s maintenance capabilities and expanding the role of our São Carlos facility, the LATAM MRO, as an important MRO center in Latin America. It reinforces our ambition to establish the region as a strategic hub for aviation maintenance, engineering expertise, and innovation,” said Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Airlines Brasil.

“Expanding our commercial relationship with LATAM’s Brazilian affiliate allows us to leverage our complementary strengths and broaden the maintenance solutions available for global customers,” said Alain Bellemare, President – International, Delta Air Lines and Chairman of Delta TechOps. “With fleet growth accelerating across our industry, TechOps is committed to meeting customer demand for high‑quality component repair customer demand responsibly, including leveraging partnerships that uphold our rigorous standards while delivering long‑term value for Delta and our customers.”
